Submissions are open for Chroma Art Awards 2015!   This art competition is open to artists of all ages and backgrounds!   We’re thrilled to announce that Chromacon has partnered up with the prestigious James Wallace Arts Trust as an Awards sponsor (winning art works will have an opportunity (non-obligatory) to be purchased and be part of one of New Zealand’s foremost contemporary art collections!) Chromacon Arts Festival 2015‘s Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign is now live!   If you believe in creative independence, artistic excellence and the growth of our community, please take a moment to consider supporting and sharing our campaign!   Fortunately, we were immediately selected as a Kickstarter Staff Pick – it’s going to be a great opportunity for Chromacon to connect art lovers world-wide with New Zealand creatives 🙂   Thanks to the outpour of support from you all and art lovers around the world we’re now 34% funded! We have two amazing announcements to share with you all today!   First is the launch of Chroma Connect – a new professional development and networking pre-festival creative summit taking place on Friday 17th April at the Aotea Centre! Following a successful inaugural Festival in 2013 we are very excited to officially announce that Chromacon will be back in 2015 on 18 & 19 April! Chromacon is a curated indie arts festival that celebrates the coming together of community, creativity and innovation and we are once again teaming up with Auckland Live as our Venue Partner to bring you Chromacon over two whole days. This time round we are taking over the Upper & Lower NZI of the Aotea Centre, Auckland to bring everyone this FREE public event which connects New Zealanders with the best homegrown illustrators, comic artists, designers, animators, game developers and more! We know many of you are eagerly awaiting news regarding the next event so we thought an update is long overdue: In order to host the best event possible, and to stick to our core values, we have decided to defer the next Chromacon for a year to early 2015. This was not an easy decision and was the result of a lot of discussion, planning and risk analysis.
